Description

Slow Moment honey from coastal meadows, bogs and forest 250 g is collected from the Kastna Peninsula, Jäärumetsa forests, and the bogs of Tõhela and Nätsi-Võlla. Spring honey is lighter, mainly collected from maple, willow, dandelion, alder buckthorn, and fruit trees. Summer honey is darker, collected mainly from clover, blueberry, cranberry, raspberry plants, and meadowsweet.

The 250g jar is a beautiful gift and also suitable for the table when honey is not consumed in large quantities at once. You can always buy a new jar of honey when one is empty 🙂

Honey in the jar can be in three consistencies, and you can choose the one you prefer: liquid, crystallized, or creamy. Honey is liquid immediately after extraction or as a result of melting for packaging, allowing honey to be transferred from larger storage containers to smaller packaging. The crystallized state is characteristic of Estonian honey, generally crystallizing within one to three months. Therefore, if you prefer liquid honey, you should buy it in smaller quantities and consume it more quickly. How quickly honey crystallizes depends mainly on the plants from which the nectar is gathered and their proportions in the honey. For example, alder buckthorn nectar does not crystallize, but since alder buckthorn nectar is not the only component in typical Estonian polyfloral honey, the honey containing alder buckthorn also crystallizes, just over a longer period. The rate of honey crystallization also depends on storage conditions; honey crystallizes fastest in cool conditions. Creamy honey is obtained after slow mixing in a special honey mixing machine. Slow mixing during the crystallization period prevents the formation of honey crystal chains without reducing the beneficial properties of the honey. This keeps the honey pleasantly soft and easy to use.

Honey is always available from the self-service hive located at the entrance to Tormikadaka farm. You can also order honey to the self-service hive in Nõmme, Tallinn, from September to May. Delivery to Tallinn and Tõstamaa district is free for purchases over 25 euros. For other parts of Estonia, honey is sent to parcel machines, thus adding a shipping cost to the price of honey.
