The beeswax candle is the only candle product made from 100% natural, eco-friendly, and local material. Beeswax candles emit the sweet aroma of beeswax when burning, without any added fragrances.<\/p>\n

Unlike paraffin, a by-product of oil production, beeswax candles burn cleanly. Literature suggests that beeswax can neutralize airborne pollutants, allergens, and dust particles when burned; however, scientific proof in this area is still being developed. Candles made from soy, rapeseed, palm, and coconut waxes offered in Estonia come from imported materials and, as such, have a larger environmental footprint.<\/p>\n

The wax for this kit is collected from hives in P\u00e4rnumaa, located in the Kastna coastal meadow, J\u00e4\u00e4rumetsa, and the N\u00e4tsi-V\u00f5lla bog. Bees use beeswax to build comb cells needed for raising their offspring and storing pollen and nectar. Wax sheets are produced and combs are built by young worker bees. The bee family produces the most wax during the peak of their growth and foraging in May and June, when new comb cells are required, and honey-filled cells are capped with wax.<\/p>\n

Making beeswax candles is a pleasant manual activity for children, resulting in a beautiful outcome. Crafting candles also provides a good opportunity to discuss fire safety with children.<\/p>\n

The crafting kit includes everything needed to make five candles, each 10.5 cm tall:<\/p>\n

    When burning a candle, be cautious and follow fire safety rules. Never leave a candle unattended and keep it away from flammable materials.
